The Role

Following up on environmental legislation and fulfilling the annual declarations in the context of the environment as well as keeping the environmental permits up to date.


· Implements uses and improves the environmental management system

· Develops the environmental management program, the different phases, and actions of the BIM, and ensures that these will be applied

· Contribute to the development, implementation, application, and evaluation of environmentally friendly production methods and products

· To monitor compliance with environmental legislation, in particular by regularly checking the workshops, the treatment plants and the waste flows. Report on the identified deficiencies and make proposals to remedy them

· Coordination, actualization, and evaluation of environmental permit applications and sets these up.

· Identify and analyze shortcomings in the environmental management program, diagnose the root causes, and proposes corrective actions

· Monitor or guarantee the implementation of the prescribed measurements, periodical checks, and the registration and the interpretation of the results thereof.

· Keep track of the waste materials register and the material register and adhere to the reporting requirement referred to in Articles 17 to 21 and 23 of the Decree of 2 July 1981 on the prevention and management of waste (according to ISO 14001).

· Keep track of the mandatory notifications and declarations regarding the environment

· Make proposals and contribute to internal and external communication in connection with the consequences for people and the environment of the establishment, its products, its waste materials, and the facilities and measures to limit these consequences.

· Provide advice on any proposed investment that may be relevant from an environmental point of view

· Ensure that the environmental permit remains up to date or will be renewed

· Completion of various notification forms related to environmental matters:

· Notification of waste to OVAM

· Notification of groundwater extraction and groundwater consumption

· Val-I-Pac

· Prepare the annual report

· Environmental Coordinator Assistant: Responsible for Maintenance/Management in environmentally conscious choice of investments

  • Annual mandatory continuous training for environmental coordinators of 30 hours

  • Min. Bachelor with additional training environmental coordinator type A

  • Min. 1 year experience in environmental files

  • Technical and financial-economic insight

  • Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and Vlarem 2 and 3

  • Problem-solving ability

  • Work independently

  • Sense of organizing environmental files

  • Advanced English
