Due to the ambitious growth of the organization, we wish to strengthen the team in Belgium with an HSE Manager
The Role
As HSE Manager you will be responsible for the development & support of the HSE programs in our Belgian plants (Ghent, Roeselare and Evergem) in cooperation with the local HSE team & Belgium HSE Director, in order to ensure compliance with the law on wellbeing at work, minimizing the risk of incidents & accidents and ensure environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
a) General requirements:
- General support and follow up of the corporate EHS programs and standards. Reporting to the Belgium HSE manager.
- Be the primary point of contact for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) issues at assigned location.
- Developing & updating of regulatory documents for EHS department.
- Follow up the documents concerning the on-boarding and other safety trainings
- Practical communication of documents to workers, external parties, management.
- Monitoring KPI’s & follow-up actions
- Regular GEMBA-walks to connect with all operational stakeholders
b) Safety committee:
- Prepare documents for the safety committee, follow up on points discussed in committee. Communication with the managers.
- Make up the report from the safety committee and other EHS related meetings or working groups.
c) Quality:
- Develop EHS documents into the document management system .
- Manage EHS related data & document like PPE matrix, training matrix, commissioning reports, …
d) Accidents:
- Coordinate with local management to ensure incident investigations are completed, follow-up actions taken, and learning’s shared.
- Basic analysis for accidents/incidents, collection of information and filling up report.
- Communicate with local plant management & Belgian HSE manager about possible measures to be taken.
- Communicate actions & follow-up with supervisors & workers about accidents/incidents.
e) Financial
- Lead and control the SHE-CAPEX and OPEX
- Facilitate the EHS-investments
- Support in ordering and follow up on payments concerning PPE, trainings, …
- Supervise & follow-up of external companies.
f) Environmental
- Work in accordance with the HSEQ procedures and policies and instructions, whether documented or not, and their specific responsibilities.
- Conduct environmental audits & support ISO 14001-compliance.
- Report problems or suggestions for improvement in the application of the environmental management system or deviations related to environmental issues to their supervisors.
