Due to the ambitious growth of the organization, we wish to strengthen the team in Evergem with a Quality Lab Lead.
The Role
As a laboratory and metrology teamleader you manage the laboratory team activities in order to perform all the necessary laboratory tests required by production, homologation bodies and customers; as well as calibration and measuring systems analysis (MSA).
Responsibilities
• You follow up the homologation samples preparations & coordination with the corporate laboratory for the delivery and are responsible for the update of the laboratory documentation (lab scope, work instruction & procedures) and alignment with ISO9001, IATF16949 and applicable CSRs. You follow up 5S deployment inside all the laboratory area.
• You are responsible for the calibration of the equipment & instruments, monitor the calibration plan, and coordinate with the production & the calibration suppliers to ensure all equipments are calibrated in time. You analyze and implement new control and calibration methods and perform special calibration tests.
• You prepare CMM measuring program according to applicable customer requirements and internal definitions and train the lab team on how to setup & supervise the CMM machine to perform required measurements and how to analyse & report the results accordingly.
• You inform the lab team on how to perform lab tests & reporting according to all applicable specifications and customer requirements and train the team on how to perform internal calibrations according to the work instructions.
• You are responsible for cost optimizations and continuous improvements within the lab.
• You provide metrological support to the different areas such as maintenance, engineering or production process.
• You are responsible for the development and deployment of quality system standards related to the perimeter of incoming inspection, supplier claims & audits.
• You train the quality inspectors on how to perform incoming inspection, and ensure supervision & follow-up and support the quality auditing team to analyze quality problems originated by materials.
• You follow up on suppliers complaints, analyze suppliers 8D’s and approve or reject and measure the effectiveness of the suppliers actions in case of claims. You monitor the quality performance of suppliers and recommend actions/decisions to the corporate supplier development team. You initiate the escalation process in case of NOK performing suppliers and have the authority to block NOK material. You support the suppliers development team with supplier audit activities.

Requirements
You have obtained an engineering degree in a technical field of study combined with a minimum of three years’ experience in the area of laboratory, CMM and/or metrology, ideally in industrial glass automotive companies
You are familiar with IATF, ISO17025/2017, COP,…
You are fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is an added bonus
You have good MS Office skills and user knowledge of SAP
You work meticulous, set high quality standards and focus on delivering good service to both customers and suppliers.
You have experience in leading a team
