Frankfurt, September 15, 2017 – At the 67th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt, AGP is showcasing its new eGlass state-of-the-art technical capabilities, as well as its latest innovations, Ultralite Plus™ and Impact Plus™. The lightweight glazing solution Ultralite Plus™ reduces weight by up to 35% as compared to a standard glass, thereby maximizing driving range, while additional impact resistance is achieved with Impact Plus™ allowing car manufacturers to feature glass panels that are approximately three times more resistant to stone impact. Both technologies leverage Corning® Gorilla® Glass.
Ultralite Plus™
The lightweight hybrid glazing solution offers up to 35% weight reduction, contributes to an improved handling performance and an extended autonomy range, reduces CO² emissions and improves the overall fuel economy. In addition, the advanced glass technology lowers the vehicles center of gravity, which leads to better acceleration and the thinner glass contributes to a faster defrosting.
Impact Plus™
The state-of-the-art glass composition is approximately three times more resistant to stone impact, increases overall safety and ensures a longer product life.
“Electric and autonomous mobility is a growing market and we’re prepared to contribute our glazing experience to accelerate this great trend – AGP is proud to be a part of this evolution,” said Arturo Mannheim, CEO of AGP Group. “Together with Corning, we are honored to present these latest advanced eGlass technologies at this year’s IAA. This appearance will mark a milestone for further international cooperation and expansion.”
Besides Ultralite Plus™ and Impact Plus™, AGP’s international research and development team has developed core technologies that are closely aligned with the future mobility trends of electric, autonomous and connected vehicles.
AGP eGlass’ flagship technologies and product solutions include, for example a special technology that maximizes camera system performance for autonomous driving (Camera View Plus™), a non-metallic glass coating solution that improves cabin comfort without compromising connectivity (Solar Plus™), and a unique technology that gives passengers the ability to adjust the transparency of the glass at will, by touch or voice control (Vario Plus™). Moreover, AGP’s high-tech glass enables the production of panoramic and Cielo windshields of up to four square meter (360 Plus™). AGP’s glazing solutions combine lightweight technology with advanced optics, safety and comfort features to deliver an
unparalleled driving experience.
