AGP has completed its first full year of operation at its new eGlass production facility in Lima, Peru. This new facility represents AGP’s fourth state-of-the-art plant in South America. The company has two production facilities in Lima, in addition to plants in Brazil and Colombia.

The eGlass plant was specifically designed to produce the largest and most complex windshields and panoramic roof products in the commercial automotive market, with special focus on the needs of electric vehicle manufacturers. The facility has been awarded an American Architectural Silver Level prize for its modern design.  Because the plant is highly automated, it allows AGP to manufacture products in large volumes required by OEM customers, while also supporting advanced features. Therefore, the eGlass value proposition offers core technology solutions that enable OEM ́s product development vision to be accomplished using the latest know-how in the industry.

eGlass has seen dramatic demand increase with the recent award of three new advanced automotive glazing projects and several co-development programs with OEMs. These programs are in addition to the production launch of the Model X windshield for the world´s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, which is also the largest windshield in the history of passenger cars. Called the “Big Sky” windshield, it has achieved outstanding reviews in trade and consumer publications, creating a new standard for car design and driving experience.
